DUH! I did not even know it had achieved species status. My book lists it as a subspecies of caprodes.

To be honest I personally was leaning more toward P. caprodes fulvitaenia and just tossed a coin :p Bars are much more obvious for that Narrow then bulb trait now that I look at it closer....

Yep, P. carbonaria. The Texas keys and the newest book (where I got the pic) all say it's a distinct species now. I guess you're up Polypterus.
