I'm not that clumsy!

Oh man. When I got the tag from you John it was like all my Christmases had come at once. I sped over to this thread as fast as my fingers could carry me, fully expecting our little friend to be stranded in the middle of his new swimming pool in his basement, hopefully with pictures! I now realise you got me here under false pretences, lol.

I've just got a couple of points to add before I depart this thread forever.

@Backfromthedead, you are one of the most skillful DIYer's on this site. God only knows why you feel you need this guys input into improving your methods. You can't learn from guys like him because he simply can't take any constructive criticism without thinking that you are belittling or mocking his train of thought regarding his building methods.

And @BIG-G hit the nail right on the head, he knocked the ball right out of the park, absolutely spot on when he said he fully understands why the OP has had to learn to do things alone, and it is nothing to do with his physical condition!

Now, at last, I can depart, forever. Oh John, this time......

Since John and esox have stepped out, I figured I might get involved in this thread.
I want you to know that nothing I am about to say reflects the fact that you’re in a wheelchair. My brother has been paralysed and in a wheelchair since birth, I’ve grown up playing wheelchair sports alongside him and understands how hard it is to do things in a wheelchair. I think what you’ve been able to do is absolutely awesome and encouraging.

But what is not awesome and encouraging is that you come on to this site, see someone who is extremely knowledgeable on building plywood tanks and such and at the start answer like a mature adult (i’m assuming you’re mature considering your 10 whopping days older than Madonna), then when he provides information that is critical to your build, you then panic because he said something that wasn’t exactly as you wanted or calling you a genius and ask for why he should be able to critique you, and go ahead and build it anyway (completely ignoring the fact that he’s built 15 large plywood tanks over the years) because one old engineer said it could work.

Because now you’ve built the tank, there’s no point telling you not to build it, but i’m just gonna put out a question about the longevity of the tank. That relatively thin glass won’t be able to hold the force of 800 something gallons for a long time. It’s a ticking time bomb past a year or two.

Finally I’d like to ask what spurred you to be so rude to Big g, who is an mfk veteran, and just completely ignore his questions and the then ask stupid questions equivalent to insulting the size of his urinating apparatus. So what does it matter the size of his biggest fish. I’ve seen people who have giant fish in absolute minuscule tank. Does this make them any more knowledgeable? The biggest fish i’ve ever kept was a 2ft trout cod, but i’ve Also been mentored by over a dozen people including people with phds in fish. I’m probably the most knowledgeable on Australian fish in mfk. Not once have I insulted or berated a person just because there’s biggest tank is under 300 gallons.

No one on mfk wants negative people like you on the forum, especially when you’ve stated you’re more than intent on ruining multiple threads.
If I was a mod you’d be banned by now.

I really just want to see how long this thing lasts. So many times MFKers start an ambitious project like this and then they just stop posting, never to be heard from again. I can only assume a lot of them hit snags or their build crashed and burned, got discouraged and were too humiliated to divulge anything. Now that we've got a spotlight on this thread, the last thing i want is the OP to vanish and never post those pictures of this thing filled up with water and running.

On the flip side, i love an underdog! If this project even attains a small measure of success, say several months or a year of continuous operation, i want to know that information too, without the personal hassle of having a huge water bomb in my own house.

Dude. You need a different kind of site. There are a zillion places where monkey spankers of your ilk can revel in their own nonsense but this isn't one of them.
I didn’t ask you about the size of your tank.
I don’t envy anything about you or your build.
I didn’t stoop to your level with uncalled for name’s.
As for my other question you answered it, there’s no doubt left in my mind what’s going on here. I also understand why you’ve had to learn to do things alone.
Your physical condition has nothing to do with it.
I don't believe you. You accused me of being a 'troll' yet you came to me, you trolled yourself!
What a snide lil he-hag you are! You have such an unpleasant and rather disgusting personality, it's obvious too. And I'm a happy ass day dreamer!

ME: He-Man Winner!
You: He-Hag Loser!

LOL rough crowd around this joint

Its no longer enjoyable with popcorn, now too salty AF. We now need get a bulletproof glass build going in here. Im going back to your goon city thread and having a fresh set of popcorn made and maybe chocolate m&ms 🍿

Welcome to my ignore list, population: 2

You'll be hanging w/ a gentleman named PB&J though I have no idea how much time he may spend here anymore. It'll be like introducing two fish w/ poorly developed social skills, one of whom is certain he's pretty funny and the other an amalgam of density and irritability in equal measure.

Round One: Invalid vs Retard.

Ding ding!

Enjoy yourself!

Sometimes my dreams come true! Listen Dummies, I did not not ask for any opinions or advice and so all the unsolicited info tossed my way is meaningless to my building skills. And trust me, I got skill. When I do NEED advice and I will, I will ASK for it. As for DIY, that means I don't have to follow any industry or commercial standards, I use what I have and I use what works. And furthermore, 1/2" tempered glass is SUPER TOUGH! And so am I! I don't look at somebody else charts. I chart my own path.

I find it absolutely galling that even AFTER Chicago is up and running, the Clown Squad is STILL doubting me and my fantastic build!

Additionally, Chicago is Act Two in a three part City Series of Aquariums. Akron was built first and the final act will be Cleveland and she will be a show stopper, a real show piece. The base will be furniture grade cabinetry. I also build beautiful cabinets among many other things.

So for those that are genuinely friendly and interested, I would very much like to share the next build from start to finish with pictures documenting every step.

One more thing! I noticed several of you unpleasant types have spoken of my 'PROBLEMS'... I never once claimed that I have problems.

I SOLVE problems! I am a MAJOR PROBLEM SOLVER! I got life by the horns and I am LOVING LIFE!

And yes, I am TEN DAYS older than Madonna. And I'm 12 years and a few months younger than Cher. I would date Cher in a heartbeat! Not Madonna though! That dame gives me the night sweats! Madonna is like a 64 year old teen aged devil doll, so VERY frightening!
