You can root pretty much any android device, and as long as you create a mirror image before you start it's pretty much impossible to brick it. If you screw up while jailbreaking an iPhone then all you have is a ridiculously overpriced paperweight. And I consider being overly simplified to be a disadvantage not a plus, I would rather have the freedom to customize something however I wish.

There's a reason almost every professional musician, graphic designer, videographer and other artistic professionals use macs. Fanboys and haters are extremists who should be ignored as with any other issue. The products themselves should be the only consideration, and the quality of Apple products is very good, especially for those users I mentioned.

Indeed. A large part of the reason that I had iPhones in the past was that at the time, there was nothing to compete with it. Now there are things that can compete and which offer an interface I prefer.

There was just a IOS 7.2 released to prevent this and you could (as of yesterday before 7.2) unlock it with your big toe, ball of your wrist, another thing that i can not say, and a cats paw.
