I got two 10" iridescent sharks a week ago and they're not eating. I tried feeding them sinking shrimp pellets but they ignore it and swim past it. Other tankmates are two 8" Oscars and a 9" Pleco. The Oscars don't bully the sharks at all, and the pleco hides under it's bridge ornament. They're in a 72 gallon tank that has good filtration. I know its not a tank problem because the sharks came from a 55 gallon tank. Please help

They probably don't recognize pellets as food. You have 2 options. Keep feeding pellets and eventually they will eat them or you can throw some bloodworms in and I'm sure they will eat them. If it were me, I would go with option A since you're already a week in.

Dont worry it took my ID's a month to settle down. They are easily freaked out! Mine did nit eat for 3 weeks! But mine are in a 600 gallon Aquarium. I hope you have or have plans for a huge Aquarium. Mine went straight onto pellets.

Thanks but as for the pellets they're the exact same as the ones the owner before had, and they also ignored the bloodworms. Will they really go on for a month without food? But yeah plans for a bigger aquarium are coming

They're probably injured, a 4' tank isn't a good place for a fish that likes to dart and hit glass. I have a 12" ID shark and my 6' isn't long enough for him. They probably hit the glass and hit their head and are recovering. They spook very easily, panic, and hit the glass causing injury to their noses and/or eyes.

Also the fish are generally nocturnal bottom feeders. They like to stay where it's dark during the day, then come out when it's dark. Low light is best for them, bright lights will stress them out.
