I'm just wondering because I was jamming out to some music and my cockatiels cage is right under one of my little bose speakers and he's all hunched down and looking around all funny. Google didn't turn up a lot of information. I'm also wondering how it affects cat's and dogs. My cat seems to run away when loud music on, and the dogs just don't care but they're old. I've seen fish tanks at a hookah bar where it's impossible to have a conversation with somebody because of loud music. I'm sure the vibration affects the fish. I've got some speakers wired up to my computer in the fishroom too but I don't play music very loud. Just loud enough to here over the pyhton during waterchanges. Anyways.. What do you guys think?

I'd say they dont like it, considering that dogs and cats have MUCH more sensitive hearing than we do. My dog runs when I play my bass- through my eight 10" woofers on my Ampeg.

I have two very large speakers about 2 feet away from my elongs tank along with three others in my very small room. They dont botther him while watching tv. But if I have them on while playing music with a lot of bass, he freaks out initially, but then seems to sedle down a bit.

I think the initially shock is probably like going up and banging on the aquarium.

Pretty sure its bad for dogs/cats because of their hearing is so accute, maybe not bad, but probably very bothersome.

and have no clue about birds.

i have a quaker which is around the same size of a teil and he loves it when i play loud music, he starts jumping up and down and seems to understand that its okay to be loud and starts squaking like crazy:)

I forgot to add, when I play music with bass my bullfrog enjoys it. He ribbits along with it.

alright my conclusion is that it's bad for dogs and cats although they will tolerate it.

it stresses your fish out.

and that it depends on the bird.

Maybe you should play better music. :)

Animals have a very sensitive sense of hearing. Loud music can only cause deafness and headaches for the poor pets. I had to endure a very loud racket by several speakers myself during a festival last weekend. The glass windows of my car were vibrating much to my annoyance. The fish would feel the same way I am sure.
