oh crap

That's inches, by the way
LOL Actually, its even worse. I capped the final value to 1000%. If I remove this cap, I'm sure the actual value would be much higher!

Good job with it. What does the number by the filter mean? Is that the tank volume the filter should be adequate for?

Some of them seem to be a bit off, for example the fluval 405 says 65G, while a rena XP3 (similar flow rate and volume) is 110, and an eheim 2217 (less flow, less volume) is 104

Also, if you want to add wet/dry filters, I think letting the user plug in the media volume would be the most effective method.

You are right - those are off by exactly 45%. I took 65% of the manufacturer quoted numbers because all manufacturers over-quote their filtration capacities.

Yes, I am currently working with few others on this idea similar to what you are mentioning here... It should eventually make it to the app...

Can we get some NA natives on the list? Lepomis, etc.? I used a convict as a placeholder for my Green Sunfish (l. cyanellus). But my sunfish will keep growing and soon be bigger than the typical convict...

Well, no one has requested Piranha but someone did request for Pacu so she made it to the list first. :D Every species on this app has been added through request from users.

I need to read up a bit on piranhas though, I don't know much about them.
alright heres some basic info for Red bellied Piranhas (Pygocentrus nattereri) if you want to add them to the app. hope this helps :D

requires atleast 20 gallons per fish but also needs to make sure that the tank is atleast 18 inches wide (full grown they are 12") so a 40 gallon breeder(36x18x14) would be suitable for 1 (see below for why not 2)

recommended to be kept in groups of 3 or more (singly works ok but should never be kept in pairs due to aggression issues)

so if you end up adding them and need a bit more info you could look around the piranha forums here

Can you please post your species list along with the tank dimension?

I suspect this is once again, due to profile sites being too generous with their fully grown up sizes.

Thanks.
It's a 46 gallon bowfront (the dimensions are right on the site).

1 African Knifefish
1 Yoyo Loach
2 Angelfish
1 Brown Hoplo
2 Turquoise Rainbowfish
1 Elephant Nose
1 Common Plecostomus
1 Red Tailed Shark

Your aquarium filtration capacity for above selected species is 40%. Recommended water change schedule: 71% per week. (You might want to split this water change schedule to two separate 46% per week)
Your aquarium stocking level is 189%.

I won't deny that it's heavily stocked, but hell, it's maintainable. (The site didn't even have needlenose gar or glass knifefish, either.)

Also, Senegal bichirs are fine in 55g tanks. Especially just one or two.
Hmm currently they are marked as 12 inch species. Hence I naturally expected a tank with at least 18inch depth. So these guys don't grow this large?
