tanks alot i put some serious time into this baby, but its well worth it. the favorite channel in my house is definably the fish channel.

btw i think the jd's ate all there fry because there all gone after 4 days, there's just too much aggression in this tank, the male was protecting them so hard. he would even take on the oscar with is easily 3x his size. he wouldn't eat and was starting to get thin. but he's better now

if theres another spawn im gonna remove them asap then maybe they will have a chance.

Wow!
If they spawn again then you should try leave the fry in, because the parents might still be learning and might not eat the fry next time!
happend with my two blue rams...
after 3 unsuccessful spawns they finaly got it right and didnt eat them! :)

yup thats the size

so ive been watching the jd pair closely and like clock work 3weeks later they had another spawn, this time i got to see the female lay the eggs and the male swim over them im assuming fertilizing them, the spawn looks to be about 250 or so fry

now the part that surprised me was i took a look at the other corner of the tank and found that my two green tex had fry of there own, i didnt even know one was a female, im assuming the new one i added is the female(her head is more rounded),
there spawn is more like 500+ fry and i have two say they appear to be better parents, i watch as they brake up food for the fry, scoop them up and keep them all in a group.
i removed about 150 of the gt fry and placed them in another tank but im gonna leave the rest in there and see how it goes

i added some pix from my phone its the two gt parents and the brown haziness above the eggcrate is the group of fry
its not the best pix but it will help illustrate what im talking about

sorry
im probably posting this under the wrong section but here it is

just an update
the fry all got eaten again but next time i have a tank setup so ill pull them.
And i lost another giant dano
death by jumping out of the tank as im doing some cleaning and me not noticing till hes dried up and my dog try's to eat him

so that leaves me down to 1, i feel for the little giant all by him self,
but i really don't want to add any thing so he will have to cope

my fish have really grown in this tank! i have a bunch of fry and every Thing is really thriving

the third jd is currently a little beat up from the pair of gt but other then that things are going well

my fish look the best when the tank lite is off and yhe room lite is on, there very dark and easy to capture on film so heres a few pix i d k how well they are but hopefully you can experience what i get to

here my oscar i would say he's bout 16'' now

my female green tex bout 8''

the male gt bout 1'w/ my favorite fish of the tank the salvini

here my fav the salvini hes grown to be 6-7 '' from 3 '' pre tank

and heres a pix of my pairing pair of jd;s the male is about 10''
this is by far the worse picture
