Jaguar cichlid not eating

How big is the jag?
If it's been 7 days off food and he's still not interested, then it's a possibility he's got sick by the feeder .
If you have a strong smelling carnivore pellet ( like maybe hikari carnisticks or maybe massivore delight , I'm not very sure of the foods you get in the US), you may soak that in garlic juice and try feeding at night. Or maybe try some prawns.
If it's still not eating then there's some serious problem.
kno4te kno4te Rocksor Rocksor Deadeye Deadeye duanes duanes may help.

He’s around 9 inches. I’m using Hikari carni sticks. The thing is my Jaguar has never accepted prawns . I’ve been trying to get him to eat prawns since he was a juvenile and I’ve had no luck. If he is sick, what should I do? What medication should I use?

I’d try for now soaking the pellets in some garlic or bloodworm juice and refeeding with hex shield. Monitor the poop for stringy white looking poop. If not still not then I’d dose some levamisole and/or prazipro. Keep the water clean.

Thank you, Will try that tonight.

An update: The Jaguar is behaving normally, can’t see any changes. He came on top today and tried eating pellets twice but both the times he spat them. Should I wait it out or medicate the tank?

Id suggest you wait , add meds only if symptoms appear.
Did you soak the pellets in garlic juice?

Have you tried live earthworms, live mealworms, or live crickets?
Not recently. I had tried feeding him earthworms once but he ignore them. I have even tried frozen food but he never accepted that too. He only used to eat pellets and live fish.

He seems active and comes to the top right corner when I’m about to feed but when I drop in the pellets, he just ignores and goes back to his business
