I really do dislike how OCD I am with my stocking. The
leucosticta shipped yesterday and all went well. They were surprisingly calm. before and after bagging. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't nervous as buggery after I dropped them into Australian Air Express, but much to my relief it all worked out well.
Bagged them up at a friends place in Brisbane who was holding my
G. cf.
argyrostictus "Aripuana", so I picked up 16 of them to grow out as replacement. Anyway, here's a sneak peak after about an hour in the tank yesterday - already sifting and feeding quite happily. They're currently in with 12
Corydoras caudimaculatus and 10
Otocinclus mariae while I source the rest of the setup.
They have an absolutely amazing neon purple sheen through the whole body in the right light.
Measured specimens during netting, largest was a surprising 5.5cm (2 1/5") and the smallest was around 4cm (1 3/4") - planning to keep a log of their growth with shots every fortnight. Won't be plastering them on local forums though, as my photographs seem to be key inspiration for flavour of the month.
