Thanks JK47, but I won't be doing an auto-change or direct system. I'm currently changing these tanks with the 25L (6G) drums you can see in the first photo of my last post, so I'll just be filling them up the day before, and then preheating them in winter with a couple of old heaters about an hour before I do the changes. I currently only plan to use the RO/mix for my dwarf tanks to keep TDS incredibly low, but it can serve as a backup if (when) my tap water changes to something less awesome.
Makes sense. Your blessed to have the water you do. I have to work really hard at mine mixing RO. Ice is probably the only water harder than my tap. :( Makes WC's on the large tanks a real chore and takes more than a day of prep. Not for long though... Curious if you have ever considered dwarf pikes for a future set up? I have a 55 gallon tank I am considering doing this with.

No dwarf pikes available in Australia.

Loves Severums, try searching it, the answer has been detailed a hundred times by myself and others on these boards.

Looking awesome japes, will be interested in some coral red pencilfish when you acomplish the breeding of them.

I am going to be doing the same, I hope with my green fire tetras, I want to build the group up, I only have 5 at the moment, and I want around 20.

Certainly inspiration for all fishkeepers young and old, new and experienced

i was just wondering what kind of leaves are those and quick question ive seen this substrate for plants
Eco Complete Planted Black Aquarium Substrate

do you think that this will work with earth eaters ? or would i need another inch of sand above that heres the link for it

Unsure of the grain size of Eco-complete as I have no experience with it, but if it's similar to Aquasoil then I'd recommend against it. Mixing an inch of sand above it won't work unless you're dividing it with netting/matting as it will be mixed up quickly by adult Eartheaters. Fact is plants won't do well with Eartheaters unless they're mounted on driftwood or floating.
