Ok, just wanna post this so I can keep track of how much this whole project cost to date, figured some might be interested. Prices are total paid with shipping, taxes, etc. Here goes:

- Tank from craigslist: $60

im sure theyll be more expenses to come

thats not to bad... seeing as how some of the people on planted tank spend more then that just on there lighting. or the auto dosers or all that crazy stuff. lol but tank looks great. good luck with the green water hope it clears up.

sorry for the lack of updates guys! but yeah, UV light was installed on 10/15. by 10/18, the water was clear!!!!!!!!! ill get some pics later this week, water is still a little cloudy.

HC looks to be the same, no new growth or dying off. hopefully now that more light reaches it it can start to grow better...

Ok, finally some real updates!!! GREEN WATER IS GONE!!!!!!!!!!!! Installed the Petsmart UV light on 10/15/08 and it was clear a few days later. Water is looking great today and plants seem to be doing better!

A few other notable items:
- Added more fish: Black Neon and Von Rio tetras
- Added about 30 RCS (red cherry shrimp)
- Pic included of the internal uv light, still running
- Not sure why, but some strands of HC are uprooting and getting caught in powerheads
