hey man, i keep forgetting, you running a ph controller or just running a solenoid on a timer? im still debating whether ill need an airpump at night. im not gonna have room for all these damn timers under the cabinet lol!

i do not run a controler but im going to on my up coming 75 gallon i think its worth it if you have the money. and i would run an airpump too. at most LFS or even the net they have power strips that have timers build into them the one i have has two day and two night plugs with 4 all time plugs and you can set up like 7 differnt time slots. i couldnt find one online but that is what i would say to get. i just run a second power strip off of one of the day time plugs and that gives me more then enough plugs.

yeah thats what ill have to do. i already have two timers for my lights. then ill need another for the solenoid and one for an air pump!

i was really set on getting a ph controller but ive read that after a while when you get used to your tank, they really turn into a ph monitor more than a controller.

i think ill get good results by using a timer/solenoid rather than paying $100+ for the controller

ya but if it ever happens were your co2 starts dumping your controler will shut the solinoid off. my tank is going to be a discus tank and i would hate myself if i killed that much money in fish just because i didnt buy one more little thing. i guess its more piece of mind then needed.

JC, updates look great man. How far are you from Tracy? Looks like I might be out here for another weekend, I saw in one of your posts Modesto which is only like 30 minutes from Tracy I guess, if you are around I would love to check out your setup. I am board as hell out here haha

Like I said though, looking real good. Looks humid in that bad boy for sure. These planted tanks are impressive but intimidating with everything they require...I bet that thing will look sick when its done though. Decide if you are going to do a sand patch in the middle yet?

thanks jay! actually, im in merced now, which is about 70 miles from tracy. lemme know!

yeah the end of tank dump is pretty scary. but im not too worried about it since you just have to keep an eye on the gauges on your tank. the place to get an exchange on a full tank is just down the street, so i can exchange them quickly when the levels start getting low.

and im not gonna be keeping expensive fish. $1~2 per fish at the most lol! so thats not an issue. oh well, we'll see what happens

With no water, should you be adding CO2 into the air with or without ventilation, especially with the tank sealed up like that?

Very large school of neons would look cool with your setup
