I was lucky. I moved my fry while they were wrigglers because the mom had moved them all into a pot. I just lifted up the pot and slowly placed them in a brood tank. I moved the mom in with them until they were all free swimming for one week. Now about 300 of them are in my 56... Some are over a half inch in one month. Good luck... and feed often. Get some pics up soon.

oh no rush.. and you do not want to upset them in any way right now..after babies are out
ya i gave them a "night light" "to help with the 24/7 roundup" :D
and last night when the lights were out i slipped one of those breeder nets in,might put them in it for a bit to be in the same water for a while longer.
thanks
if no one read the story,
i put these 2 jewels in with an aro for food
he didnt eat them "guess he thought they were to pretty" LOL
they acted like they were mating
and both looked different in size and color so i figured m&f
i moved them to a 10g all to themselves with a piece of driftwood
and one month later wigglers
:D

cool, did ya feed them when they were wigglers or wait till free swimming?
im going to pick up some frozen baby brines and i have some im trying to hatch also.
are those prawns laying in the sand in front of the fry?? like cooked prawns for food?
nice spawn by the way
chunks of raw market shrimp
i feed that to most of my fish
the jewels love it

They live off their egg sacks until they are free swimming so no need to feed really. I am not feeding bbs at all. Instead, I have a mortar and pestle I use to grind up every type of fish food I have in the house... from HBH Super Soft Krill pellets, to shrimp pellets, to FD bloodworms. I also us Hikari micropellets instead of first bites. So far so good. They are constantly hungry. I am sure bbs will be great for them. Mine are getting color enhancers from day one.

best i could get.
the tank is under a 55g and between two cabinets.
thats why its hard to get other views.
the last pic i just stuck my hand over the tank and guessed.lol
you can see the difference of the two jewels "the blurry pic" lol
im actually surprised the first few came out so good. "click to make bigger" :D
and it looks like the babies are trying to break from the sacks too. :)

Man, you got yourself a lot of babies! This is where the fun begins. I moved fake plants and things with algae on them from other tanks into the brood tank so that the fry could eat that in between feedings. They picked everything clean. They really need to eat constantly when they are very young. I can't really tell what kind of filter you have, but just in case, I would cover the intake tube with a filter sponge... just use a rubber band to secure it. This gives the babies something to pick food from and keeps them from getting sucked in when they are not strong enough to swim away from it.

Check out my fry thread to see what mine look like at less than one month. Some are over 1/2". Good luck

got a pic?or link to what it would look like?
i was thinking of putting window screen around it but dont want to stress them.
or just putting them in the breeder net but that will be to small.
i have another tank but dont want to swap and chance killing any.
might just move the parents.
i did see a pic online of a mom surrounded by babies, that was neat.
