Would it be wise to put my 2 4" Red Jewels in with my wifes 2 Oscars 5"
and 8". The Oscars are in a 75 until I set up the 125. I want to keep the Jewels, but I want to turn the their tank into a fry tank, and don't want to set up another one. The water parameters are the same in all my tanks. The Oscars are less aggressive than the Jewels, but the Oscars have been alone except for Plecos and Corys.

Are the jewels a breeding pair? If so, I would not recommend putting them in with ANY tankmates. They are an aggressive fish anyway, if they are breeding it's tenfold.

I had a few O's for about a year, they will eat anything that fits in their mouth and somethings that wont even fit haha. I have heard jewels are pretty aggressive and can hold their own, but the jewel I have know I know would have been dominated by my O eventually. I would say the 5" O is okay but the 8" could pose a problem and the O's grow real fast.

If they look like they will do okay then maybe try it, but if you see the O going after them then I would get it out because its only a matter of time. Even if they seem to work okay together, be aware the O could go for a midnight snake anytime haha

They are a breeding pair.

I love a good midnight snake! ROFLMAO :ROFL::ROFL::ROFL:

Seriously though, I don't think the O's are what you have to worry about here. Having kept both species, I've seen few fish that are more homicidal than a breeding pair of jewels.

:ROFL:That sounds like it could be fun.

Um, yeah, fun if you don't like your oscars.

Who doesnt love a little midnight snake! Damn spell check...doesnt have an impact on my complete failure of the english language...:screwy:

LOL! It's no big deal. It just struck me as funny! I couldn't stop laughing when I though about the fish and a good ol' midnight snake!
