Yeah, he was afraid of the camera for a minute, but figured out it was harmless and started cruising past it within minutes. He acts sort of like a cetopsis cat, doing a wiggly circuit in and out of the pipes and caves over and over. There clearly will be no tank too large for him.

The wife is mad, but I knew better than to NOT buy it. :)

Can anybody try to help me ID the buddy? It could be m. longirostris, m. kunname, or others! My eye is very new to mormyrids. So far I think kunname, but I could be wrong.

I thought you knew what you had there. did they just sell them as mormymid?

Could also be a Rume.

One thing that I learned early on here (from oddball) is that there's really no way to tell the sp with these guys unless you know the collection point, which is unlikely.

What's good is that it's nice and fat.

These things require live or frozen worms nearly constantly. So feeding will be difficult. Other than that they're not so hard to take care of.
