I have never kept these 2 South American cichlids before, and I saw some on MFK today.
Can anyone tell me about these guys? I've read that the bandit cichlids go to a great size not too big but not too small, right smack dub in the middle 6'' which is awesome and drawing me in plus they are super cute and awesome looking.
The keyholes according to my friend are dwarf cichlids and rarely exceed 3-4'', is that true?
Can you tell me some information on these guys, I'm thinking of getting them for my big tank that is cycling.
Will they do ok with silverdollars, chocolate cichlid, green severum, geos, and a green terror?
I'd love to see some pics of your bandits and keyholes.

Keyhole are really peaceful, mine are in with neon, black neon, and Kerri tetras.

Keyholes actually get larger than that but are normally still called dwarves because they are so shy and passive. I wouldn't keep them with most of the stock you listed. The Bandits would work well though.

Ok, great to know, thanks.
What size tank did you end up getting?
I am still looking, but am looking in the 6' tank range, just need to find one I can afford.

Ok good to know, thanks. The bandits are really gorgeous.

From what I’ve seen, Guianacara can be really pushy. All those fish would work together but make sure you have a large tank.
Yea, they will be in a 6' aquarium.

You said in your first post you had a big tank cycling. Then in your last post you said your still looking for a tank you can afford?????. Honestly mate you really need to be thinking about all those other poor fish in ure 55gal before adding anything else. Not tryin to sound like an arse but yea can you sorta see/hear how you are sounding?

You don't sound like an arse, you're dead on man.

Hello Arse,:)
I never ever said that I was going to be adding a keyhole or a bandit cichlid to the 55,now did I?
Poor fish.... why would you say poor fish? I am taking great care of them. They are eating well, get daily water changes, and I TAKE VERY GOOD CARE OF MY FISH.
LIKE, I SAID, IT DOESN'T MATTER HOW/WHEN, I WILL BE GETTING A BIGGER TANK...
BUT,THIS THREAD ISN'T ABOUT TANKS OR WHEN I AM GETTING A BIGGER ONE,THIS THREAD IS ABOUT KEYHOLE CICHLIDS AND BANDIT CICHLIDS..

You don't sound like an arse, you're dead on man.
Dead on about what? Dead on about being an arse? LOL.:)
The fact of the matter is that I will be getting a larger tank soon and I never once stated that any of the above mentioned cichlids are going in a 55.

I've been giving you the benefit of the doubt but you are literally caught in a lie here man. And you're trying to reflect any opposition by saying it's not the point of the thread. Try telling the truth you'll feel better.
