I have kept Guianacara, I grew a group of @ half dozen out in a 75 with Mesoheros ornatum until they all hit maybe 3

Just a heads up, Guianacara and maroni are very similar looking, in shape and even the dark band.
I usually find that when put in the same tank, similar looking cichlids see each other as competition, and tend to be aggressive with each other, even to the point of fighting to the death over territory if the tank is not large enough.
