I have kept Guianacara, I grew a group of @ half dozen out in a 75 with Mesoheros ornatum until they all hit maybe 3

", then transferred them to a 150 gal where they were very peaceful.

Just a heads up, Guianacara and maroni are very similar looking, in shape and even the dark band.
I usually find that when put in the same tank, similar looking cichlids see each other as competition, and tend to be aggressive with each other, even to the point of fighting to the death over territory if the tank is not large enough.

I've been giving you the benefit of the doubt but you are literally caught in a lie here man. And you're trying to reflect any opposition by saying it's not the point of the thread. Try telling the truth you'll feel better.
That is the truth. I will be getting a bigger tank within the month, so what difference does it make?

WOW! Those guys are awesome looking, love them. Love that pike cichlid too.

Because you said you owned the tank and that it's cycling, when you don't. That's a lie. Even if you have every intention of getting the new tank, the fact of the matter is you still don't own it yet.

Hello Arse,:)
I never ever said that I was going to be adding a keyhole or a bandit cichlid to the 55,now did I?
Poor fish.... why would you say poor fish? I am taking great care of them. They are eating well, get daily water changes, and I TAKE VERY GOOD CARE OF MY FISH.
LIKE, I SAID, IT DOESN'T MATTER HOW/WHEN, I WILL BE GETTING A BIGGER TANK...
BUT,THIS THREAD ISN'T ABOUT TANKS OR WHEN I AM GETTING A BIGGER ONE,THIS THREAD IS ABOUT KEYHOLE CICHLIDS AND BANDIT CICHLIDS..

Dead on about what? Dead on about being an arse? LOL.:)
The fact of the matter is that I will be getting a larger tank soon and I never once stated that any of the above mentioned cichlids are going in a 55.
Chill out mate, what sort of response do you expect from people when you blatantly lie to them? You have been pulled up on it on numerous occasions now. I've lost count of how many times now that you've stated you have a new tank or that you have a new tank on the way. No matter how well you care for you're fish you have still crammed a stupid amount of them into a tiny tank which can only mean that they are suffering. You really do not have an argument here or the right to get on the offensive as you have been found deliberately misleading people and caught lying yet again. Give it a break dude.

But that does not matter, I will be getting a bigger tank with in the month. But the point is yes I did say that I had a big tank cycling because I know that if I didn't say I had a bigger tank I would be belittled, as in the post below....
I respect every fish keeper and we all keep fish in different ways, we have different opinions and methods. While something may seem cruel or awful for fish to people, they need to realize everyone has different money situations and can't rush out and get a bigger tank like that, unless they want to send money to help the person upgrade.
But, like I said, when I get a new tank, I will post it on here, you guys should know me. I like showing off my stuff, so it is something to look forward.

WOW!! CALM THE HELL down! Why the hostility?
I haven't blatantly lied to anyone, while I may have twisted the story a bit to avoid situations like this one, I am indeed getting a bigger tank.
My fish are not suffering... they are growing and showing off some awesome coloration.
You have no right to tell ME what to do. It's people like you that ruin the hobby for fish keepers... you think you can judge fish keepers for how they keep fish and you think it's cruel and suffering, yet you don't care or realize it takes money to get a bigger tank.
Unless you are going to help someone upgrade, I personally think you shouldn't be worried about me.
I'm not getting on the defense or trying to start an argument, but your coming off as an extremely insulting ***hole.
Please, tell me again how I am misleading people? Talking about my personal tank is NOT misleading....

He's not being offensive whatsoever man. The "belittling" is derived from the lie you told. If you had told the truth none of this would have ever happened. It's really that simple. You can deflect the core argument all you want with all that you're saying but the fact is that you did blatantly lie. People don't like to be lied to.

You're misleading people by saying you have a tank that's cycling, when you don't have the tank at all. That is misleading.

Well to you he's not being offensive, but he is coming off as an ***hole to me.
How does my personal tank concern others? I was simply asking about keyhole cichlids and bandit cichlids, not about my bigger tank.
The bigger tank is something I need to worry about, not everyone else. It's my fish hobby, I worry and care for my fish.
I'm not on here looking for trouble or anything like that.

Yeah but you brought the tank up. You're correct that it's nobody's problem but yours. Until you openly discuss it on a public forum, then anybody can comment. That's kind of the whole point of a forum.

He's not being offensive, he's telling you the truth and sometimes that's really hard to hear. I know you're not intentionally trying to be malicious but lies are a big deal man, you can ruin your whole reputation in a second with a lie. To your own admission, and announcement, you've said that you've lied in the past. This is going to automatically paint a bulls eye on your back.

And none of anything I'm saying means that you don't love your fish.
