L95(Orange cheek) or L52(Pineapple pleco)

Does anyone know how to tell these two plecos apart?

Mine is 4" and is dark brown with spots on the body.

Got a pic? Sounds like its L95 due to the spots.

L95 as their common name suggests have 'orange cheeks', usually grey base colour but can be brown, and have body spots.

L152 are typically brown in colour, lack the 'orange cheeks' and body spots.

sounds like the orange cheeks.I have a group of large L152 and they also have yellow coloring on the fins.

it looks like a pineapple.. where the colors haven't full come out yet..

Where did u order it from?

Also.. L95 is the ADULT version of L152 so it can become the orange cheek pleco...

No it isnt. L95 or Pseudorinelepis genibarbis is a recognised species, L152 is as of yet still just an L number. MsMassPoly has a group of adult L152.

I'm reading the L95 and L152 info from German Aqualog book Loricariidae... http://www.planetcatfish.com/books/books.php?article_id=303

I own the book.. So the information of the fish may or may not be correct....

Planet Catfish descibes the L95 as "Orange Cheek" max at 14" and L152 as "Pineapple plecp max at 19.7"
