Large Pleco Food Suggestions :)

boiled spinach, watermelon rind, and spirulina are probably good things to try
 
if all youve ever fed them is wafers they might not grasp the point that other food you are feeding them is in fact food..
i fed one of my plecos nothing but wafers for over a year.. when i finally started giving him other foods it took a while for him to figure out that he could eat it.. now he will eat mushrooms off the surface..
give it some time and try sticking bits of wafer into whatever else you are trying to get them to eat..
 
We had a cook out at the apartment complex I'm in yesterday. One of the goodies we had yesterday was watermelon. I thought will the plecs eat it?
I dropped in a rind that had a touch of pink on it. It took all of 5 minutes for the plecs to go to town on it. Worked it all over except for the touch of pink I'd left on it. I brought several pieces home with me and will eat all the pink off of it, the rest goes to the fish.
 
Algae wafers and crystalwort harvested from my 10 gallon make up most of mine's diet. Thinking about watermelon though.
 
mine loves to eat fish,prawns,shrimp and algae wafers my 18incher unfortunately has taken a liking to tackling my koi so hes soon going to a reservoir down south

Thanks I thought he looked a little different from the two other common pleco I had the marking and the fin escpecially... I got him to feed from the hand to!! a prawn!! he loved it... have to do it like that cause the rtc will only take it off him!!!... and I just found out he loves mussels too!!! and wow ur pleco is beautiful!!!!

If you mean my avatar, I wish I owned one like this but I don't. Right now I only have 2 commons. Too be honest I don't even know kind it is.
 
It took awhile for my pleco to eat the zuchinni slices, now he won't hardly eat anything else, be patient he wll soon realize that it's food. I put a lead weight through the slice so it drops to the bottom .

it kind alooks like a phnatom pleco/// im probably wrong and gonna get blasted now!! sorry!! I have one.... he looks just like that in your avatar but he is only about 3-4 inches :( only a baby
