this has me interested also. the question posted isnt about the biggest fish that can be caught, but the largest freshwater fish in africa.
Arapaima, the US native alligator gar, the sturgeon native to the Hudson River (I don't know what they are called) and many others are easily twice as big as the Nile Perch as well. It's kind of sad that there are no big African freshwater fish.It is the Nile Perch. I think the only larger freshwater fish are the Mekong Stingray, the Pima, the Mekong Catfish, and the Silure (Wels) none of which are found in Africa. Well, there's the Bull Shark, but it's not full freshwater...
