It’s not silent like an ehiem but it has a low humming noise to it I would say under a cabinet it would be hard to hear it at all. Put it this way I am setting up a 600g tank soon in the living area of my house and have no hesitation fitting two of these to it.tcarswell;3027594; said:Very nice rat , thanks for the info. Is that sand filter noisy? ?
Thats the one thanks I could not find them anywhere over here.LowCel;3027729; said:It is just a ball valve with unions on both sides. Here is a link to one at Lowe's. http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?action=productDetail&productId=209665-34146-P200U-40&lpage=none
Nice love your workmanship very neat that sump is a beauty. With the filter socks you are using what is the micron rating and how often would you need to clean the socks out ?DB junkie;3027775; said:Finally up and going.......
Got the tank back in January. First fish went in last weekend. The rays just went in last night.
How did the micron change work out? I went back through this thread Great work MFKersDB junkie;3032738; said:Thank you guys.
Socks are (4) 200 micron. Will be switching to 100. Cleaning.... guessing once a week.... As the 200s still don't have a rise in water level yet and it's been up and going for over a week.
Pump is an ampmaster Dolphin 4700.
As of right now I'm planning on doing a complete rebuild. Not ready to give up on the settling chamber idea.
yea i really wanted a big eheim, IMO there no such thing as overkill so another one should be on its way to mine in the newar future ( i hope ). I think the reflection of light off one of two inlets makes it look like a kink but i asssure you its all good in the hood as for the uv im using a vecton v2 200 with a diidy 8w bulb which i had previously used on a small 50g tank. on the 50g tank i ran it using a maxijet 600 powerhead. again when i get some more moneys i wanna look into up grading the swine to something alot more substantial.tcarswell;3070833; said:That is awesome! The only thing I see that may or may not be an issue is your hose on the inlet side looks a little kinked. I like the choice of filter though that is truely an investment ! Very cool. What wattage UV are you running ?
Thats crazy your gonna hook up another!? Sounds like a fun cool idea. But you could buy a bigger tank for the cost couldn't you ? Not trying to knock ya bro just curious. I am guilty of the same thing I could have a 220 for all the filters/UV/ Media I bought in anticipation of my monster. Now its not gonna happen for a few months because I got a 55Inch 1080P 120hz TV because my 20 inch TV broke lol.Tom_cullen;3070961; said:yea i really wanted a big eheim, IMO there no such thing as overkill so another one should be on its way to mine in the newar future ( i hope ).
