the main tank is only a 250. it was my first sump and overflow. it was actually originally going to be for a barracuda but i got a new hammerhead for the same price as i was going to get the used barra for. so of course i went with the hammerhead.

i got the go ahead for a 8x5x2 build from the gf so the hammerhead and a couple fx5's will go to that tank and i will buy a cuda for this tank. i have another 125 ready to go to act as the sump for the new tank also but also might buy an acrylic 6x2x2 tank also so maybe hammerhead and cudda on new tank. all just depends on if he wants to sell it. i will buy sheet at a time so its not so expensive all at once. little easier on the cash flow.

love the reeflo pumps though. this tank is right outside the bedroom and the pump is open all the way. and me and the gf can sleep just fine. oh yeah and i live in an old church remodelled into a house. we didnt add any walls (except for large bathroom). and the tank is actually 7 or 8' from the bed.

Here's the DIY W/D for my 180-

50 gallon long with triple baffles, twin 200 micron filter socks, a pot scrubbie Wet/Dry chamber with drip plate. The tank is a corner flow, so there are 2x 1" drains and 2x 1" returns. Water is returned with two QO4000 pumps.

The pumps also power the Coralife UV 3x Sterilizer and the bucket algae scrubber I am still building. A CO2 system will make the tank complete...if I can figure out where to cram it.

Thanks! Yes, the 3X Turbo Twist is the 9 watt version. It is a bit small for this size tank, but this was all a budget build and I got a hell of a deal on it. Even at this size, it has a nice polishing effect on the water.

Two things.. 1) I am glad I am not the only OCD one that matches the scrubbie layers by color HAHA! :ROFL:2) that is one beasty looking algae scrubber!

Tank looks very nice, any full tank shots??
