Lightning Maroon Clownfish

It is an actual fish. You are thinking of the April fools joke that Reef Builders posted last year as a joke saying that a second fish was found.
 
The lightning maroon has not spawned it has just been paired. In the post it says the gold stripe maroons he has spawned. But still it is great news he got it paired!
 
there are but very expensive from certain breeders...last i saw was a year ago an it was goin for 1800...
 
I'm sorry but I find it hard to believe that this guy is the most qualified breeder to have such a rare fish.. Now it has mouth rot?? I'm sure there are a few people out there that a more qualified to raise such a fish.. I have always followed this closely, hoping that someday it may spawn and now there is a possibility that the fish could die.. I know things happen but this guy has had few close calls with this beutiful fish and it should be taken from him and someone else should get a shot at taking care of it..
 
Yea, has not been spawned. And yea, awesome fish - but its weird it didn't end up @ ora or liveaquaria.

:nilly:It's official the PNG Lightning Maroon clownfish has spawned :nilly:.. Unfortunately they ate the eggs shortly after.. Still great news and hopefully they will go for round 2 sometime soon.. Haha figures after I was talking crap about Matt not being qualified to be in charge of this project they go ahead and spawn.. Hopefully we will be able to see what the fry look like in the near future.. Here's the link below with pictures and a video..
