Remember that the tanks in TANKED (at least the ones installed in businesses) are using the tanks (and appearance on the show) as advertising.
I'd bet that the tanks, stock, etc. are part of a larger package that includes a certain amount of visibility of the company's brand / logo, etc. on the show.

I was out there in July, and met the whole cast.. and toured there whole facility. The tanks they have both in the office and shop are well maintaned and properly stocked. They are really nice guys and know their stuff. That being said i think a lot of the tanks are done just for the show as the gumball tank car tank and jukebox tank were all in the shop when i was there.
Tanks done for the shows are fully paid for units. Most of the time on a big custom install, the new owners are working side by side and very closely to get exactly what they are looking for. There are times, however, when the owner puts it all in the hands of the design team and likes the surprise of the 'reveal' when it's all said and done.
I would guess it sold. There would be no reason for the company to have them remove the listing. It would be like Ford asking me to not sell my Mustang.
Haha, it was just an example. I would say it is to get a rarer one, but having one of one made doesn't get much rarer!
