Random tank shot of my heros sp Rotkiel.
Other tank mates are metynnis lippincotianus, reticulated ray and pink tailed chalceus.

I'm loving those heros! How is the temperament of the chalceus? Are they jittery? And do they still smash food?

The chalceus are quite peaceful. I lost 3 of them and was worried that the remaining 3 would start picking on each other but so far they have been fine. I would like to add some more but it's been hard finding any big enough to avoid being eaten by my ray.
Lovely fish i really rate them and very greedy.Can be a little skittish but nothing too bad.

Very pleased with the stock in here particularly fond of the silver dollars.
Creating a nice scape is a lot more of a challenge since owning my ray and I can't say I'm satisfied with it but she's worth it.

Yeah I miss mine. I think they aren't very hard on each other tbh

All my research told me to keep them in groups of six or more to avoid aggression. I will keep a close eye on them but so far so good.

Same. The guy I sold mine to had a smaller duo in a different tank and they were chill as well

Yes, this is the case with most tetra species. I am wondering if it's really keeping them in even numbers. I had 6 astyanax bimculatus. Lost one, had 5. One of the 5 got picked on and died. Have 4 now and no more fighting.
