I'm loving those heros! How is the temperament of the chalceus? Are they jittery? And do they still smash food?

The chalceus are quite peaceful. I lost 3 of them and was worried that the remaining 3 would start picking on each other but so far they have been fine. I would like to add some more but it's been hard finding any big enough to avoid being eaten by my ray.
Lovely fish i really rate them and very greedy.Can be a little skittish but nothing too bad.

Yeah I miss mine. I think they aren't very hard on each other tbh

All my research told me to keep them in groups of six or more to avoid aggression. I will keep a close eye on them but so far so good.

Same. The guy I sold mine to had a smaller duo in a different tank and they were chill as well

Yes, this is the case with most tetra species. I am wondering if it's really keeping them in even numbers. I had 6 astyanax bimculatus. Lost one, had 5. One of the 5 got picked on and died. Have 4 now and no more fighting.
