  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I had one long time ago, very cool fish but gets aggressive sometimes.

Here's a pic of him:

They're called man-eating catfish because there are stories of these catfishes dragging children down the river to drown them and make dinner out of them.

Cool cat! Wish I could house it, but even then I probably couldnt afford to feed it!

That thing is huge.... looks pretty tasty!!

how much are they gonna be

Wow! When do you expect them in? Guestimate cost?
:)

How big does this species get??... i have heard stories of "piraiba" (Brachyplatystoma filamentosum) making meals out of local natives... do "Zungaro Zungaro" grow as large/or larger?? I've kept the other "man-eater" before, wallago attu... very interesting sp. imo. have kept 'piraiba' as well. But have YET to keep "ZUNGARO ZUNGARO" tho?... Please do keep us updated with their arrival. :)

Not trying to jinx anything, but Import is scheduled to arrive on Tuesday evening.. Will take shots upon arrival.. They will be juvies.. not sure of the cost until they are here.

I couldn't find a ton of information about their maximum size, however I believe the filamontesum might get a bit longer in length, however the Zungaro seems to be a little thicker-bodied.. I didn't find any photos of the Zungaro (formerly Poeculia Lutkens) at a max size nearing 6' like I have seen in the Filamontesum and a few other SA catfish..

The Zungaro reminds me quite a bit of a RTC without the vibrant coloration.. The body shape is similiar, as is the speckled pattern on the head when they reach adulthood.. I have also read that the Zungaro has a very nasty disposition and quite the appetite! I bet they will be very fast growing once they arrive, just like the marbled pims.
