Thanks guys. His eyes look horrible. A some of one side looks like its still there. The other side is hanging out the socket. Its gonna be tough putting my favorite guy down. Can I just get clove oil at the grocery store? He's not worth saving, right?

Put it out of it's misery you can't leave it, what ever bit it's eyes out are going to have field day on it, it couldn't defend himself with eyes.

Doesn't matter really-
I can't remember doseing exactly-------Just overdose it.....It wont hurt it none----

I filled a 20 gal long halfway full of water and put in a bottle and a half od clove oil-Small bottles that is-And they went right to sleep-----

Then like stated just toss in freezer afterwards....

i would put him in a tank by himself...giving him a chance to cope ...and sometimes they do just fine... you can always put him down if things do not work out... but i would give him the chance.. i am so sorry this nightmare happened... so sad ..

Very much south..
I've kept, and fed, a blind silver arowana. Died, but of unrelated causes..

it is up to you to decide, since you're the one who is able to see how it is coping....

Give it a couple of days, I say...

My fiance said the same thing. I know I have seen blind jars and they find food with their barbels. I'm just so torn, cuz I really liked that aro.

Thanks Liz. It is a nightmare. My kid just asked if we can put glasses on him (he's 5), and doesn't want him to die because his other favorite fish just passed (a tilapia butti that was given to him). I will decide when I get home I guess....

wow, sorry DJ. That's awful.

I guess if it were me and it was my favorite fish. I would just try and get him healed as if he were healing from any other wound and just see how he adapts.

Animals are amazing. They dont feel sorry for themselves. They just adapt.

Like 3 legged dogs. or even 2 legged dogs. Fish are the same way. Unless you remove parts of them that they need in order to live.

I would give him a couple of weeks. If he were in the wild, he would die. But since he has you, he has a good shot at a good life.
