Mangrove tree pod washed up

I expect that over time, mangrove roots will work their way thru the bamboo section, the soggier the bamboo gets, maybe destroying them in the end.
And I have no illusions that 1 or 2 or even 6 mangroves would make much of a dent in nitrates on their own, or until they put on lots of growth.
At the moment I have over a dozen mangrove pods lined up against the back wall of the tank, and am hoping to collect more, enough to totally cover the entire back wall.
Just as with any plant, to see even a tiny dent in nitrate reduction, the plants must far outweigh nitrate producers like total fpopulation of fish.

Don't know either how much nitrate removal to expect. It will be cool to have have a little mangrove ticket in there nonetheless. The new growth looks very nice and healthy!

A 2 month update.
These are the first two pods put in the tank, left one added 8/24, right added @ 10/2

To keep a record of progress, these 2 pods were added to the same tank (sump), the same day (10/18)848241A0-88FF-4D53-87BE-5096F845AA22_1_201_a.jpeg
The one above was planted on the dark side of the tank. Indirect filtered sun most of the day)
The one below, was planted on the bright side.
Intense direct sun from about 9 AM until about 2 PM.

Most of Taboga is uninhabited, and nearly uninhabitable without a lot of effort.

Some is only accessible by boat.

So I figured with all the pods washing up these days, there must be some spot where mangroves are catching on.
After some exploring, came upon this spot, just out of sight of the inhabited area.

Wow! Do yours grow in saltwater? Looks like some nice driftwood. Random, but interesting question, have you ever kept a saltwater tank native to your area?

Mine are growing in fresh water.
I have always kept freshwater or brackish water tanks, never pure salt water.
