Marbled Fenestratus Breeding Project!

I'm not feeling this marble. How was it even created.

Is that male a hybrid or was it selective breeding or a natural occurrence for the marbling?

Impossible to know with any certainty as the original breeder spawned the first marble from a pair of fenestratus that he purchased from a LFS in AU. How "pure" those 2 fish were is anyones guess.

You can read more about these fish, and the breeder, in the following discussion. http://www.cichlidae.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=36385

Yes, you know, the lights alter the DNA. Be careful who you take advice from online OP!

Lol, I thought it sounded rather strange, although I have heard of higher temperature creating shortbodies.

What do you mean mate?

Can't wait to see how the fry turns out, keep us updated :)

Will do mate, I can see eyes now in the eggs, won't be long before they hatch!

Thanks man, that's awesome!

I always wondered who the guy was who first created them, I have heard of him, but never knew anything about him.

This is the only shot I have for now. Please mind the gravel it came with the tank lol
