Ya i often thought of using dumpsters...its been done before. Too much work to hack it all up and i had the steel left over from a previous customer. If i had a warehouse id just have a half dozen delivered haha. My tanks dimensions 14'x8'x4' so a dumpster that size is more of a shipping container. Too tall to get in my house.

Much respect on an original build though.. looking good.

Wow, I'm glad I stumbled across this thread again. That tank is going to be sick. You have so many stocking options, once it's filled and the 500g is filled. You might even end up with extra tank space... I know that's not a word we are used to lol...

Haha aint that the damn truth tho....If i can stop bringing in new fish for a couple months everyone should be getting somewhat of an upgrade soon enough lol. The 500gal will alleviate alot of my smaller salt tanks, ive decided to mix some fish with the sharks once there is more room. If the little salties get eaten its all good that just means happy sharks lol.. weather is finally coming around so i can weld more comfortably haha and i can go fishing again. Went out a couple times already but its still pretty cold. Def. a late spring. Very anxious to do some collecting this year for natives and ready to get some free food again for the big boys, they love smashing bluegill :) i swear i have the "sun disease" haha ive been creeping outta the basement more lately, cant wait for some nicer full weeks here to get some stuff done on this tank and do some more exploring. I visited a freshwater spring lastweek on my parents land about half an acre of a smallish pond thats loaded with breeding frogs/toads. Its only around 1-2' deep so im anxiously awaiting CLOUDS of tadpoles to net out for feeders. Been goin there for almost 20 years lol... when i was 14 id collect tadpoles/crays every day for my 11 turtles. Some things just never change :) Its funny i was an animal hoarder 15 years ago, still goin strong. My parents make fun of me more than anyone for being 26 and still collecting rocks and small aquatic life from the woods/springs i grew up in. No crays or creek chubs out yet, i was a bit disapointed but the frogs were bangin' so loud it hurt my ears haha. Fresh food in the making! ill get some pics up of the spring. I'm very tempted to throw some snappers in there and see if the babies stay close to home. The water is so clear its ridiculous, i think theyd do awesome.
 
This was my first fishing trip 2 weeks ago on a local creek. Targeting pike but no luck yet this year. Hoping to go back over the next few days. It was 42degrees when i was there lol

Ya I agree waiting to see this thing get fully done, I still worry about plywood builds but I also think about long term rust with this tank. At some point ill be building or buying something crazy large
