Metal monster 3k

If you don't know what you're doing trying to move an electrical panel is not a good idea. It might work; but you could start a fire or kill yourself just as easy. Get an experienced electrician to move it (if it can be moved).

Obiously not going to move the box on my own i have an electrician on hand if need be...im gonna remove the trim from the door as much as possible and just try and get the tank in. If the electrical box is tight its going to face a BFH until she fits :). There is nothing electrical in the lower 12"-14" of the box so one smashed in corner should b fine lol..

You can hit it with a hammer that wont cause any issues just make sure to have a video camera recording so we can see your death, I mean your triumph over electrical box.:banghead:

wow this is sweet, cant wait to see how you finish it off. I am currently thinking of getting 2 large tanks but I am crap with wood construction so this gives me hope! I was looking at cement also but like you mentioned you cant move it.

Your CNC machine is also very nice hehe, I have 3 phase in my fish room all ways thought about extending a bit for something special... you really have all the boy toys!

Do you think your method would work using glass panels instead of acrylic? also before bolting the panel to the frame I imagine some type of silicone would be required?

As for tig welding well I think its worth trying to learn I myself cant do it but everyone at work says once acquired its much easier and faster.

TIG welding can be stronger but i disagree it is quicker than using a MIG. You can fill gaps up to 1/4" with a mig if needed where as yout lose you "charge" with a tig if the pieces do not butt up perfectly. If your mig is powerful enough it can be just as stong as tig so why take the time to make sure everything is exceptionally perfect when you can blow through things pretty quick while migging. Idk lol to each their own, when working alone i enjoy being able to MIG with one hand while im holding pieces together.

Let me start with, i like this thread! But for people in the future looking for info on building a steel tank, its way off pitch atm :p

Every build of this size goes downhill or gets side tracked at some point...so im just following my mentors necro and nolapete lol. For once i have some patience about the whole thing as there is no rushing it. Building the tank is the easy part imho and its basically done already. My dilemma is stashing 8 24-30" fish, a 16" ss turtle and removing the 12' pool there in for the new tank. It will all come into play soon my friends, my appologies. Its not easy taking care of 26 large tanks and hundreds of fish fresh and salt. I have been very busy moving things around already which is never a quick process. If anyone can post me a link for a rectangle shape intex pool that would help alot, i just dont have time lately to search for things. The 500gal is coming downstairs this weekend and im picking up another acrylic 5'x3' 224 :) haha i have a serious serious addiction here but these tanks will be mere holding tubs for some of my boys. Sadly my 4 30"ers will not fit in either of these as i deem that inhumane so thats y i need the rectangle intex pool. There is no where else i can move my 12' pool (round) :(. If it stays warm enough some of my fish might have to go outside temporarily lol. Next set of pics will be moving the fish, boring i know but thats more than half my battle.
