  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
^ yes, i recently met with the previous owner who kept it for 3 years. he had got it from his friend who said he'd had it for 12 years. it's a dead end if you're trying to get proper data. unless i somehow get that fin clipping to you. i'm not really looking forward to fishing it out of the tank yet again:p

some updates from over here : i recently learned that my newest cuban is actually estimated to be around 15years old. and is probably incredible stunted.

also, ]\/[FK Garmy members can opt for the their Garmy rank in their custom title, check mine out :D:p

How can we get this change made?

i figured it was via talking to the previous owner(s); and no need to worry about clipping those fish. captive ageing data isn't that useful (at least from what we know at this point) and may not even be as readable since captive gars are mainly kept in a constant environment. ageing lines are deposited on various structures (scales, otoliths, rays) because of periods of accelerated growth punctuated by periods of slow growth (this creates the annular banding)...if you keep your fish in the exact same temp/conditions year round, they will likely not show any of these annular bands.

either way, that is probably the oldest Cuban i know of...of course it was with another owner for that long stretch...the "old" xander would have exchanged out that fish in about 2-4 months tops :) --
