Got (3) Florida Gars in a 24x24x84 tank, they are 16" 17" and 18" in size.
Tank mates include (3) Congo Bichirs and (1) Ornate Bichir.
Diet is 4oz twice a week and can be anything from Krill, Salmon, shrimp, lobster, crab, to massavor pellets. Once in a while I throw in some guppies from my other 200 gallon tank to keep the population in that tank down.

Sounds nice, I'm guessing your 24 x 24 x 84 is not lxwxh though, haha. maybe 84" x 24" x 24"?

The black florida I got from John should be arriving tomorrow. I've had a 20g long up and running for about two weeks now to keep him in for a few days (depending on size and getting him eating) before moving him up. I'm expecting him to be kind of small since John's 12" one sold for twice as much.

justt in case anyone is interested I just purchased my first two spotted gar.
I got them from azgardens.com each for about $22 each (plus a fire eel and $35 shipping). I've purchased from them before from for my community tank and they were great to deal with.

lol, ya, something like that. Forgot the proper way to list dim. was length first.
They were in my other 200 gallon tank but that tank was only 4 foot long and tall as hell, they need the extra room so I got a longer tank for them.
 
Well, I'm down to two gars again; I lost my new Florida sometime last night/this morning... :cry:

Firestone will be getting an email about this one for sure; this is the second gar that I have lost to their "fish safe" pond liner. :swear:
