MFK GARMY - Report Thyne Gar

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Up to 15 myself.

It ended up being a regular Florida gar that is sort of dark. It faded when moved out of its holding tank. John refunded me all of my money minus shipping so it was basically like a free gar. :)

Really like this Florida too.

So does it look like those other dark Florida gars that John has or is it still darker than those ones?

I'd say it's like the other dark ones he has. It's pattern is very visible now and the underside has lightened up to normal levels.

I came to join the GARMY club too.

1 x cuban gar (Atractosteus tristoechus)
4 x florida gar (Lepisosteus platyrhincus)
3 x alligator gar (Atractosteus spatula)

All currently housed in a 6ft x 2.5ft x 2.5ft,280gal tank.

Nice meeting all.

Cheers,
Henry

Got two 10" to 11" what I think are Florida gars but were labeled as spotted gars in the shop, they are in a 4.5ft x 2 x 2 with small polypterus and dats.
Guy in the lfs said they had only got them eating dead food like smelt, but after a few days of settling in one eats any kind of pellets I put in and the other one will eat some now and again.
They will both eat prawns,smelt,etc.
