Thanks! This gar was on my "must get" list and will be my rarest fish yet, so I'm pretty excited.

had a pH crash and lost my tropical and longnose, so I'm down to two(also lost a 34" tire track eel). I took the driftwood out and am going to move the remaining fish to a 120 and use some different substrate. Good news is the cuban's doing well and is about a foot long now and sharing a bigger tank with some bichirs. Redoing my basement has been causing me to neglect my fish way too much and it took a disasterous toll.
yeah, i'm probably going to get that. I'm using crushed coral right now, but I know it's not ideal because of how sharp and large it is, but it's what I had.E_americanus;5139100; said:sorry to hear about the loss of fishes, that is definitely sad news. with your Cuban, you can help ensure its vitality by using the arag-alive african cichlid substrate...this has done wonders in our setups, even with systems that were already doing well. you can put it right into the tank as it is biologically active. i believe it's made by caribe-sea. this definitely helps with pH fluctuations, etc.--
