I added two more alligator gars to my collection, so I'm up to nine gars now:
Alligator gar - 4
Longnose gar - 2
Cuban gar - 1
Spotted gar - 1
Florida gar - 1
The newest little monsters are only about 2" long, but they're really hitting the feeders hard. Amusingly enough, the LFS owner decided that he wanted a few for himself after watching them hunt right out of the shipping bag; I guess gar fever is highly contagious!
1 Aligator named Garth [26"] and 1 Florida named Wayne [14"]. They live in a 180 gal with two 12" Jaguars. Tried to feed them Convicts but they are too fast for them so they just sit staring at the feeder tank next to their tank.
I have 1 small Florida Gar named Erasmus.
He's about 5" in length. Just got him yesterday!!
He's my first!!
For now, he's housed in a aquarium sized 2ft x 1ft x 1ft. I don't know how many gallons it is though!! :O
He's a fairly nice guy!! Though he's quite aggressive for his kind!! He killed a carp by snapping off all of its fins!! Even tried to swallow it!! But could not as the carp was too big to even swallow half way!!!!!
For now, he's having feeder guppies!!
Well, that's about all!!
Wish me luck with my Erasmus!!
