Mayweather has pretty much mastered the bad guy/heel role and his fights do so well because people want to see the bad guy get beaten.I haven't really enjoyed any of his fights since he fought Diego Corales.

You guys are dragging this thread down. Continue this on the boxing thread. This is supposed to be about people who fight for a living, not dance

Haha, point taken.I'm done talking about him.

Thank you, that's what I was too tired to type. the PPV buys are in large part people waiting for him to get LAID out. That same group will tear him down when it happens.

Its natural for people to think things were better 20 years ago (athletes, music, tv shows etc) but very few athletes have their feats inflated or over-appreciated over time.my theory is most people were younger and had more time to pay attention to things that caught their interests (no kids, less kids, family etc meaning more time for sports, music, entertainment) so they romanticize that time period.....but when you see truly better athletes doing what prior athletes have done but only better you start to under-appreciate past athletes. Thats what I guess will happen to Floyd. someone will string together a long streak and sprinkle it with knocks and wild finishes and we'll say Floyd who?

you guys are talking out your asses. the fact that it looks like a sparring session is a testament to how good he is. he looks a level above his opponents, top elite opponents. sure he's got a large fan base as well as haters. that's why I said he can only keep making bank if he keeps winning and running his mouth. but he will have what the past great fighters don't have. a fat 0 in his loss column (assuming if he retires undefeated)

if he was as boring to the vast majority as you guys think he is, he would not be selling millions of ppv buys. guys he fights do decent numbers or do terrible numbers when fighting others. when they fight Floyd the ppv buys sky rocket. yes a lot of the buys are from haters but the majority are fans of his, a chunk are fans of the other guy and the rest are just fans of boxing in general. but he is the one creating the huge ppv draw.

but whatever, we can agree to disagree once again. I don't watch much of him myself, but I won't label him boring if he's drawing millions. and I believe he will be highly regarded decades after he has retired.

and screw you guys for making me defend mayweather

LOL.Maywether's legacy will be that he ducked and dodged Paquiao.

Thanks but i only argue with sumo on how boxing is dead there (where he again uses how much Floyd makes to argue its not dead hahaha, I don't think he can make any boxing point without bringing up how much promoters are willing to pay Floyd and the PPV buy in). I'll give you your thread back though cuz even sumo thinks his style isnt worth the 50 buck PPV bill so we're all in agreement that hes boring anyways.

Now bring up a new MMA topic before jay trolls you guys again
