crocop vs kharitonov. two old guys going at it. they both didn't look too good in their last fights.
I think ghita has a great chance but he tends to gas from what I saw. I like his style though and he's got that serial killer look in his eyes, lol. the other guy isn't great but he's good all around and gas tank is decent from what I remember
evolution man. it's different now because the old stuff don't work within the current mma's rules and regulations. I think it was great that mma came along because we got to see which discipline actually works in a fight (granted there are rules and restrictions) and which ones were just a good way to stay in shape and do as a hobby.
Oh no doubt but it's still a bunch of fighters with slight variations in skill sets but otherwise very similar fighting styles. I LOVED seeing old school UFC with strictly one style of fighting clashing against a very diff style. Was just fun seeing top contenders from each style. Now theyre all mutts

some of those old school fighters could very well be successful in today's mma if they have today's knowledge and training regimes because a few of them were actually really good at their discipline.
The politicians played a big part in UFC changing from the old Semaphore days.They were trying to ban the events everywhere that they could....Human cockfighting was a term some of them loved to throw around.
i'd say they were good when it comes to the entertaining aspect of it, but they were basically street fights
for us fans who were fans at the time though, they will always have a special place in our hearts. but really a lot of those fights are brutal to watch. especially during the times where the rule was that the ref CANNOT stop the fight. only the fighter can quit or their corner can throw in the towel. this led to some vicious beatings if one guy was unable to submit due to being unconscious or the corner didn't toss the towel
well, they weren't exactly wrong though. mma would be dead had it not changed
....and a few of the fighters too.I remember a supposed four hundred pound guy was pitted against someone who was barely two fifty.
