  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
yea, see, that's old. he's a decade late. that's why I said I don't think he should at this point

i'm all for him giving it a go and all but I'm just concerned he may get seriously hurt

in the same way, i'm glad kurt angle never tried mma at the time he wanted to. he was already older and his neck injury made it a scary thought

I have to wonder if it's to get leverage to get more money/buzz for a wwe appearance. Vince has been hardcore pushing for him to return for a wrestlemania against their current meat head

WWE has been down that road already with a Goldberg and Lesnar match at a past Wrestlemania ....both of them were booed out of the arena louder than the the treatment that Jesus Christ Reigns recently received.

Lesnar has worked out though. Vince is still trying to get Goldberg vs ryback but disagreement on pay. I'm thinking that "Jesus Christ superstar" is gonna work out too but we can bump the wrestling thread for that

Anybody watch last nights fights?
The only only betting favorite that won was the very first fight on the card. They set a new record with 10 consecutive upsets.
Michael Johnson looked really good against Barbosa.
Khabilov looked terrible; like he forgot how to slam people. He needs to leave Greg Jacksons' gym and go back to Russia where they teach you to fight.
Mir and Bigfoot should both retire.

underdogs getting it done!!

before the fight, Barbosa was the betting favorite. that surprised me. I felt like that was some easy money to be made.

I don't know about it being a record though. last year there was a card where all the underdogs won

I don't know about retiring, but mir needs to stop fighting top fives. bigfoot is looking a little more flabby each time we see him without the trt. i'm concerned about both those guys taking multiple head shots as of late

Yes, I say that they should retire because of the damage.
Bigfoot hasn't looked the same at all, since they took his TRT. I think he's really the only guy with a legitimate excuse. He has 2 wins in his last 8 fights, and 5 of those losses are (T)KOs. The damage that he took in the Hunt fight was brutal too.
Mir has had so many up and downs in his career. I'm not a Mir fan, but I think that he's had a crazy career and I wouldn't mind seeing him go out with a win.
He's 35 and has taken more punishment than most.

There's not many heavyweight contenders period, hence Mir and Bigfoot. Mir looked pretty good, has a new camp- we'll see how it pans out. He's had a lot of injuries.
Barbosa is too muscular- he seemed slower and stiff with his boxing. Big muscles are for body builders not fighters

I hear your point on the HWs; there really isn't too many out there. For the reasons I explained above, I'd like to see both guys step away.
I didn't think that Barbosa looked bigger than usual; maybe just a bad weight cut. We've seen him fight 3 rounds before without gassing. I think Johnson just caught him with some really good shots and slowed him down. I wouldn't mind seeing him lose a little bit of that muscle though, especially if he plans on 5 round main events.

I think Barbosa has been a tad overrated

he's a phenomenal striker of course. but a lot of his dominant wins are against lower tier fighters. two wins that are notable is bobby green and danny Castillo. top ten? yea, but neither is really a huge name that is or may not ever be title contenders

he's lost to guys like varner and now Johnson who aren't even in the top ten. and against a true top five guy (cowboy) he got stopped.

just my analysis. but I love watching the guy fight though. I just think he's a very beatable guy with the right game plan.
