MMA isn't going anywhere anytime soon- at least not in our lifetime. Life's too short to worry about PPV numbers geeez- get a life!

Have you ever been to a local amateur MMA fight? Kids are hungry and the fights are really good.

And don't worry if MMA dies you can watch your pillow fighting lol

who said it was going anywhere? who said i'm worried?

oh yea, you did. that's kind of your thing. you like to tell me what I say. it's just that what you think I say isn't exactly what I actually say.

it's not unusual for fans to know about athletes' pay and pay attention to ppv numbers. don't worry about us talking about it. life's too short to worry about others talking about it

if mma dies we'd both be watching this pillow fighting you speak of

You did! You said you look up PPV numbers so you can tell the longevity of the sport, did you not?

I'm Where I'm At
no I didn't say that either.

I don't look up numbers so I can tell the longevity of the sport

I said I pay attention to the numbers, because it's good info to know. again, it's not unusual for fans to know about ppv buys and athlete pay. it's just good stuff to be informed about imo

what I actually did say about longevity is, I simply stated that when fighters draw big ppv buys, it's only gonna benefit the longevity of the sport. i'm pretty sure even you can agree with that

I don't sit here worrying about the life and death of mma like you implied.

LOL, you guys are like the whiney little hipsters who complain when their "favorite underground" band makes it big and signs a record deal... all of sudden you complain that they "sold out" and cry because they have mainstream appeal...

Guess what; if theres no money, theres no entertainment!

a lot of people are upset because they believe conor got the title shot because of his mouth

you could argue other guys deserves a shot first, or deserves more money, or deserves more attention because they've put in way more years than conor

truth is, you will get big bonuses and all the attention as long as you bring in the fans. look at brock lesnar, he was 2-1 when he got the title shot. Anderson silva won his ufc debut and his second fight was for the title.

what is conor supposed to do? turn all this stuff down? one thing I never understood is where backlash from fans are directed at. you should direct it to the promotion for the decisions being made. not the fighter. why hate conor for all the favoritism he's getting? should he step out of the spot light because others are more deserving?? why would any fighter not jump at the opportunities that are presented to them?

That's my point exactly... Conor got in the fight game to make money, every fighter does... every musician/entertainer does... doesn't mean they aren't "purist" or lesser fighters because of it, they're all just lucky enough to make money doing what they love... and some more than others. So don't hate the entertainer for being more successful than your personal "favorite", instead be mad at your favorite's agent for not getting them a better deal or promoting them better...
