p.s. also interesting to note that P. gigas were noted at 12' and over 1000 lbs in the last century, and Siluris glanis was noted over 18' and more than 1800 lbs. There's pictures of siluris glanis in russia that were frozen for museum study in the 40s that were over 800 lbs. It would take a century or more for us to see fish of this size again in freshwater. It saddens me to read up on record fish from times past, but it shows what is still in their genetics though! Most people consider a rtc in captivity living 10-20 years to have a full life, but it can live much longer under the right conditions, and grow for their entire life no matter how small the growth seems.

Most of those tsn are P. corruscans, and two are actually P. fasciatum which is the type most commonly kept in aquariums.

I was thinking of getting a rtc*tsn hybrid for my 180, but I won't now. My dad and I will get working on a heated pond. If we ever make it, it will be huge. like 50' * 40' * 10'. (lwh). Great info.
