How come everybody at MFK loves these fish so much yet I've never seen a member with one that's big at all? Do they die easily in captivity?

There is a guy on there that has one that's over 27" (at the time he posted pictures) But he's not in america

all goliaths are shipped in from a baby, 2-4" range. Larger than 8" fish do not fish well, and never make it alive from Africa.

I know the secret to growing them large and fast., you can reach 12-14" in less than one year if you knew

I would like to know that info. When I had mine I had it for over a year and a half and it only grew lke 2"

Don't GATF's swim at the speed of light? Seems it would need a loooong tank. And coming from the Congo, also lots of current? Do you mind giving more details about the tank, filtration and it's diet too...thanks Hao.

Yes they swim fast as H^ll. they are doing studies to find out if they are the only fish strong enough to swim up the congo.
