More tank pics, updated

I have no idea how to tag someone so hopefully you see this
If you put the @ symbol in front of the name it works.
With how inflamed the nose looks, bacterial or viral is my guess. That said, these are some screwed up fish so anything’s possible when it comes to reactions.
Kanamycin or metronidazole would be my first treatment plans.

Tyvm. Would I find these at lfs or online? Also thanks, I'm new to sick fish... Odd with my poor care for yrs & yrs. I've only recently had a clue in hell what I'm doing. Really since joining this forum

Agree with Deadeye. Put your parrot bud in his private hospital room. Kanaplex or Metroplex. Can still use salt with it. Can get on Amazon or Ebay. Big Box fish stores usually have it but I'd call first. Don't forget the hiding spot and floating cover. Repti-vines are good too, make sure they're waterproof.

He could have gotten that from a scrape/irritation. The fact that there's less pus shows its starting to heal. Your BP looks like a character!!

Amazon is where I got mine, but a lfs, petco, etc. nearby should have it.

Got a call from Custom Aquariums. My caster cart stand for the 125 is ready to ship in 3-5 days! The freight company will call me for delivery details. I need to get some more sand. I might mix in rock and gravel. Ordered numerous other supplies too. Will be great to get some of the other fish out of holding tanks.

I was able to order bulk blackworm cubes from a canadian company on ebay. They're larger then the cubes from aquatic foods (1/2") but I bought both and mixed them in a gallon ziplock bag. Some have spinach and spirulina, some have vitamins/color enhancers and spirulina. I wanted to test out the larger cubes...they were a hit. My acara Jazz stole a cube from BP Boss and raced around, gulping it down. My O Brick greedily ate 4 cubes (and would have eaten 5 if I were dumb enough to allow it) along with his krill and a few pellets. Pip popped out for dinner with her crew...4 or five of the babies are her size, a couple are smaller and the runts are tiny. They grab pellets then take off to their area. Mama Pip is still in charge. They hover like helicopters waiting for food with Pip in the center.

In Mongo's family tank the 3 biggest babies (bigger than Mongo now!) test him on occasion. One of these I call Huey, short for baby Huey. Poppa Mongo still is undisputed boss of the tank...anyone out of line gets clipped on the tail and chased in circles. No exceptions. He charges head on at them and they scatter.

Corn the severum is chilling quietly in his own tank/tub until the 125 can be set up.

Rocky the acara and Slade the hrp continue to share a holding tank. I'm debating a mix of substrate for the 125. I might get dark green and brown sand to simulate moss/soil. Undecided right now.

Some of the supplies for the 125 arrived today.

Order is in for the substrate for the125...I'm going with a mix effect here and I'm excited to see how it will turn out. All sand is heavy/coarse grain.

Ratio is
10 lbs Wild Lime
20 lbs Avocado Green
10 lbs natural white
10 lbs river rock gravel
5 lbs currant red gravel (accent bit color)

Using Sandtastik Floral sand with the large grain/space a lot less is used. My 6 ft 225 only took 80 lbs for a 1 1/2" layer, so I'm good with this amount for the 125 at 5 ft. Below are the colors...I'm going with a mossy effect with the color. Below is the substrate mix. BTW, don't believe the hype about pool sand being all that 'cheap' at least around the DMV. The lowest pricing is actually at amazon...about $24 bucks for a 50lb bag. Covid has changed everything. I ordered this substrate on Ebay. Unlike Amazon you can negotiate pricing.

Yay! Got a call from the freight company this morning...stand for the 125 will arrive Tuesday between 12-5pm. I've asked my handsome and sturdy brother to assist in rolling it inside and moving the 125 acrylic :grinyes:.

Here's the actual mix breakdown of the substrate. I may adjust it a bit depending in how it looks under the lights.

55 lbs total substrate

Wild Lime 18%
Avocado Green 36%
natural white 18%
river rock 18%
currant red 9%

green sand 54% 3:1 ratio to white sand
white sand 18%

all gravel 27% ~1:4 ratio to all sand
