His new "Dirty Red" color phase is a call out to his juvie pattern he had last year. Black is REALLY coming back. A lot of the metallic head/jaw spackles are new. The 'pepper' scales have increased up top.
The Diva photo shoot. Patch is a whirlwind the second she sees the camera. Every time I try for a shot she goes into this routine. Twirls, loops, spins, dips and flips, fins flapping. I'm lucky if one out of 4 pics comes out decent!
Bobo stays in his spot. He likes to watch tank activity. Comes out occasionally but the Oscar will herd him around a bit. The BP gives him space but will nudge him here and there. Bobo's aggression is more defensive. He tends to back off quickly. Very peaceful, just likes to defend his spot. Everybody gotta be somewhere! He's the most calm and even tempered fish I have right now.
Total awareness no matter what angle shot I try. Brick investigates everything. I was trying to get a pic of the catfishes and Brick sticks his big nose in it. The catfish scattered. You can see Boss's (BP) snoot in the background. 20
Brick in his pit/cove. The bottom is dark because of the black pressure foam under the tank. To the left is a large air disk he places there as a partition wall.
"Trailer" Park. Patch and Kong...expecting nice clear shots of these two is nearly impossible, especially Patch. The camera sends them into kook mode. But the growth of their fins has been tremendous recently. These girls are showing off their looong trailers!
Pepper the Rainbow cichlid is doing great in QT as well. He's fiesty but kind of skittish. Eats almost his weight a day! He's a fat lil' plug, about 3 1/2" by 1 inch all around.
