Most aggressive fish for a 75 gallon

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Aren't piranha pretty shy? You're better off looking for one of the grassing banging cichlids.

A butti will get way too big for a 75 gallon.

Do you want a fish that will bang the glass and see you as an invader of it territory or something that just destroys live food? The former is defiantly cichlid territory and i would say in that tank size an Oscar would be fun. If you want something that's a bit more of a lurker but still destroys live it dead food, then some of the smaller Puffer fish species (use as dragon or palembangensis). Or if you are not in the US then snakehead? All are voracious feeders to the point where you have to watch your fingers!

I wish I wasn't in,the U.S. because I have always wanted snakehead but I am and not an oscar I already had them and I will be getting another in,the tank I'm upgrading to. But I want something, that does both a fish that hates people haha that will try to get you through glass and destroys live food I'm not big on feeder fish but I like ghost shrimp and crickets.

For a 75g a jaguar cichlid is possible (it's a bit on the small side) but he would defiantly fill your requirement. 75 is a bit small but for a few years at least till he is 8-10 inches then 100 - 125 is required. That being said they are easy to find in lfs and attack you, the glass and pretty much anything it sees! With cichlids it's a bit hit and miss depending to personality, I had a belly crawler pike cichlid (about 8 inches) that would kick off and bite the glass when I approached the tank!
