Asked the other month what everyones fav cichlid they owned. This time around want to know what everyones most difficult to find or rarest cichlid that you own or have owned.
Mine would probably be my Arroyo Yerbalito, or my EBJD.

Hmm....I don't think I have anything increadibly rare. Maybe my astheros rostratus, altifrons and robertsoni might be or my herichthys deppi. My rostratus killed my altifrons though :(
Syns seem to be very common these days, and every other CA I have right now is pretty common.
My dithers aren't that common-two spot astyanax.
Lucky CA cichlids are pretty easy to own.
It's so hard to pick a favorite.

My cubans were hard to find no one ever had any in stock for the longest time and then i would have to say Grammodes

I always seem to have about 100 cubans swimming around my tank... ;)

Probably my wild trio of Chuco godmanni? Breeding pair of Tomocichla sieboldii?

There's plenty of species out there I never see on MFK, and lots that I see in small sizes but not a lot of good looking adults.

I would say your godmanni and seiboldii are very rare.

I know columbian tetras arent rare but I have a group of 8 that are nearly 4 years old. the biggest one is almost 4" long and 1.5" high, which is pretty big for a tetra.
other than that I have kept the following rare/hard to find fish in the past

Hemichromis bangui (Bangui jewel cichlid, almost non existant in the hobby, I got some f1 fry
Julidichromis regani
apistogramma Viejita

F1 rotkeil severum

Lima shovelnose (not very common)

Probably have had more but I can´t really think right now, I´ve always gone for the hard to find stuff when available and have kept fish for about 11 years lol.

Also I will personally hate anyone who dares to post Festae here. they are the most common fish on this forum and I´m starting to think even less members have convicts here than Festae.

I don't know, literally anyone with the money can order them from Gage and have them shipped on Monday. Well, not the WC godmanni trio, but their F1 offspring is for sale.

I guess you can say they same about mine. But very few people own those sp.
They are not always readily available and sometimes you have to wait or do a lot of searching.

I agree. The same is happening w/ syns. Colorful sp. get popular fast.
