I have no aeration. I have a variant of the calfo-style internal overflow with a wet-dry sump returning by an around-the-rim manifold (the pipes sticking in from above), and an eheim 2262 canister filter returning via the black-painted pvc.

Here is a discusion of the overflow. Mine is shown on page 2 and 14.

I spent a lot of time on that board in the DIY section. Those reefers have crazy water flow/condition requirements and have come up with some rather crafty solutions ont he cheap.

I havn't met an archer yet that wouldn't spit with a little encouragement/training.
