Thanks for the comments and feedback everybody. I'll post some new pics if I decide to make any changes! As for the fish, there's about 20 fish in there but theyre all still babies. Theyll be monsters in no time though!

How about adding one of these to your system? overflow
Actually, I have the CPR continuous siphon overflow box and from what I've read on here, people say these work better than a DIY PVC overflow. The tank came with this unit when I bought it. If it didnt have an overflow, I would have made one of these though! :)

Don't quote me :D

His overflow is a lot tidier than anything you can DIY out of PVC, very tidy.
I always thought that you couldn't bullet proof HOB overflow box and that the PVC over flow would. The only thing I'm not sure about is if the PVC overflow is bullet proof or not.

Sorry to derail your thread. But your tank looks great so far.

Do you mean 'bulletproof' as in will 100% function correctly and definitely automatically restart? Mines bulletproof, it's a matter of science with how you develop it (or how well you follow the guide :D).

Can't give you an answer on the Overflow boxes though, I've got no experience with them and perhaps thats where my previous comment was false; I'd hope for a professional product that they'd work as effectively as something you can DIY.

Actually, the CPR unit with the Aqualifter to remove the trapped air works amazingly. I shut off the power, and the box stays full of water. Turn the power back on the Aqualifter starts the siphon automatically within a matter of seconds. I really think these are the best alternative to drilled tanks, if you're willing to pay the money. This units runs over $100 and like I said, if my tank wouldnt have came with it, I probably would have gone the DIY route...

sweet set up, what size air pump are you using on those are stones
not sure what the actual flow rate is, but the pump is an Azoo 9500. Got from Dr. Foster & Smith for about $13. works great. waiting for another one to come in...

thanks for the feedback. well, i currently have a silver aro, indo tiger, and a plain senegal bichir. looking to add a few more dats and a bichir that grows larger, not sure which one yet. As for substrate, i dont think ill be doing that anytime soon. i had black sand in my old 135g and i told myself I would never do that again! it was too hard to keep clean, couldnt imagine this in a 210g!!!! :)

I guess they call it bulletproof if can't flood the tank or the sump. I've heard that only a drilled tank can be bulletproof. When I saw the PVC setup I read the thread and looked for someone that had a flood due to a flaw. Didn't find one. So now I'm wondering if the PVC overflow can also be made bulletproof.

Here is the thread I read link
