I guess they call it bulletproof if can't flood the tank or the sump. I've heard that only a drilled tank can be bulletproof. When I saw the PVC setup I read the thread and looked for someone that had a flood due to a flaw. Didn't find one. So now I'm wondering if the PVC overflow can also be made bulletproof.

Here is the thread I read link
I guess that depends on how its built. In that case, my CPR unit is bulletproof because when the power goes out, it doesnt flood my sump. The water level sits about 1/4" above the lip of the overflow box. When I shut off the power, that excess water flows into the sump which has more than enough capacity to hold this w/o flooding anything.

Is this what you mean?

Yeah thats what he means, basically if the overflow clogs the tank doesn't flood and the biomedia isn't left without water; and if the pump fails or there is a power outage, the sump wont flood.

It's really a matter of how much water you have running in the system, so if you set it up correctly you won't have any problems.
