Got this yesterday through some trading with my friend JK47:

How's your tank? I've been researching vampire crabs but not sure they're 100% fish safe...

Hey Fat Homer, freshwater will be fine for young mudskippers and if you get the Indian mudskipper type.. (very small) they don't really grow...not even a finger length. Anyways, just a suggestion ^_^

borgee =)
Thanks for that info, i never knew there were freshwater species... i always thought they were brackish only... so in that case, maybe i can consider checking them out if i can find them...

Excellent piece of Driftwood you got there... looks really good in the tank... now i can't wait to see it setup...

As for my tank... the plants are growing nicely... some are already growing new foliage already :WHOA:

So i'll get some pics of it soon... also added one new plant in for a bit more color... basically same as the other plants i have except the leaves are yellow and red, instead of red and green, or green and white...

Planning on maybe getting some cherry red shrimp this weekend? but will see how the tanks doing before i decide as i don't want to rush into it...

Avoid the red bellied newts.. they secrete a toxin that can kill fish/inverts. Granted this is usually when the tank isn't properly cared for (ie water changed enough to dilute it) but it's still something to be warry of particualrly if you plan on keeping expensive or delicate fish. I've also seen them take out feeder guppy females w/out much issue.. I'de go with a smaller sepcies like an eastern newt if you can find them.. or maybe a few dwarf clawed frogs.

^ Now that you mention it, i do remember reading that they secrete toxins from there skin, so thanks for the reminder... but yeah, don't think i'm really a big fan of them either though to be very honest...

@aclockworkorange, i at one stage considered keeping crystal reds too... but the just to keep the temps cool enough i'd need to get a cooler for them and run it almost 9-10 months out of a year... so yeah, Cherry reds for me...

But i have to say, the fake wood does look pretty nice through... very natural looking, how tall is it btw?

Any way, as per request... here is some quick update pics...

Day 08:

Full tank shot
